Secret life of bees : Resilience of the human spirit (Mika, Zahir, Hadri, Layla)

Hello friends… we are doing one of the 'The Secret Life Of Bees' 's theme which is resilience of the human spirit. So here are the problems and the way the characters in TSLOB manage it. 

MAY

·       Singing ‘oh Susannah’ each time she was sad.

·       Wailing wall.

1^st Evidence : Chapter 4, page 109.

“We had an April too but she died when she was little.” May’s grin dissolved and out of nowhere she started humming ‘Oh! Susannah’ like her life depended on it.

-She manage to deal with her problem by entertain herself

2^nd Evidence : Chapter 4 page 110.

“Oh May honey, you go on out to the wall and finish your cry.”

-She expresses her feeling onto the wailing wall as a way to calm herself down.

LILY

·       Lily was longing for a mother’s love.

1^st Evidence : Chapter 1, page 9.

" …….came everyday to cook, clean and be my stand-in mother."

-She controls her feeling by pretending rosaleen as her mother as a way to replace her mother's love that she didn't get.

2^nd Evidence : Chapter 1, page 39.

" …….just wanting the night to settle on my skin, and that’s how I fell asleep, lying there with my mother’s things, ……"

-She kept her mother's belonging so whenever she was longing for her,she can feel her mother's presence in her heart.

ZACH

·       Zach copes with being jailed. He started to have vengeful interest in race relations and civil rights, therefore enhances his motivation to become a lawyer.

Evidence : chapter 11, page 332.

“…That jail cell is gonna make me earn grades higher than I ever got…..”

-Being in jail increases his eager to be more motivated on his dream to become a lawyer.

T.RAY

·       T.ray copes with not having a wife

1^st Evidence : Chapter 1, page 40.

……..I’d been kneeling on grits since I was six but I never got used to that powdered glass feeling beneath my skin……..

- He expresses his anger by treating Lily badly.

2^nd Evidence : Chapter 2, page 64.

"……..I had to get away fromT.Ray who was probably on his way back this minute to do Lord- knows-what……."

-This shows that T.Ray will do something awful to Lily regarding his anger.

As a human, we must know how to cope with obstacles in life. The ways we control a problem represent our inner self and determine whether we are strong or not. We learned to be rational on every decisions that we made. Everybody has different way to describe their feelings. Only you know how you can cope with the situation and how you can keep yourself calm at the moment of hardships. That’s all from us…thank youuu
