Memories

Hi guys! So for today's entry, I will be talking about memories. Recently, I read this novel called The Secret Life of Bees. The main character, Lily, can somehow remember as far back when she was 4 years old. It was her only memory she can recall about her mother. She remembered every details about it. She saw her mother packing, and then T. Ray entered and then two of them began to fight. Lily remembered that her mother grabbed a gun. T. Ray snatched the gun and dropped it on the floor. Lily picked up the gun. As far as the memory goes, she thinks she shot her mother.

It is actually quite extraordinary for someone to remember or recall their earliest memories. But there are certain factors which sustains the memory inside a person's mind. Personally, I think people can recall more of their negative events that happened instead of positive ones because somehow negative situations leave more impact to them. For instance, Lily can recall the incident because it is her last moment with her mother before her mother was shot in front of her. So, it leaves a big impact on her life.

I can also remember one of my earliest memories. Back when I was 3 years old, I fell down a drain near my house. Thankfully my mother was there to see me. My mouth was bleeding but there were no broken teeth. We rushed to a clinic and I had 5 stitches on my lower gum. Since this was one of the negative events happened in my life, I can recall it easily. This situation left a great impact on me because I cannot to eat after the incident. I was scared that my mouth could bleed again.
